I believe that no one is "broken", "damaged", or has "something wrong with them". We are responsible for our lives without recognizing how our decisions are based on bad information/incorrect definitions we make growing up. Our brains can be self-sabotage machines when we do not understand how they function. Changing patterns is difficult, and possible!
Couples – Combing two different world views can be hard! We often resort to externalizing blame for our own feelings, which is a shortcut to not feeling the need to change ourselves. I find that couple’s work is more related to examining individual patterns within the relationship. When we can see patterns for what they are, we can make a plan for change.
