As a second-generation Chinese American, I grew up in an immigrant household and understand the cultural dynamics my clients carry. I offer in-person therapy at my Manhattan (Flatiron) office and telehealth across New York, New Jersey, and California. Many of my clients are high-achieving Asian American professionals who appear capable on the outside but carry a lot internally, including imposter syndrome, perfectionism, burnout, and the lasting effects of growing up with emotionally immature or unpredictable parents.
My approach goes deeper than coping strategies. We explore the beliefs, patterns, and relational dynamics that were formed early in your life and continue to shape how you think, feel, and relate to others. My doctoral research on shame and self-esteem in Chinese American families informs everything I do.
