I specialize in the treatment of trauma related disorders, and I approach the treatment of trauma as a chronic illness to help my clients confront it's lasting impacts with compassion. This process gives us a chance to understand what we adapted to, how we adapted, and how that is showing up in life in the present. That understanding gives us more freedom to notice ourselves with less judgment. From there we can make more sense of confusing or conflicting feelings, and build a more grounded sense of who we are to navigate our relationships in a way that heals us as we go. I work with adults, parents, families, and teenagers.
The therapy that I practice incorporates elements from the different branches of mental health treatment I have been trained in, including Solution Focused Family Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
I believe that we all do as we have learned to do, and we can all learn to do better. We learned to live and feel the way we do through the relationships and experiences we have had. I also believe it is possible to have different relationships or experiences to intentionally grow into a different way of being. We can learn to be curious about ourselves.
