Hi! My name is Danielle Murphy, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My goal as your therapist is to work comfortably and collaboratively to build a life for you that is peaceful, meaningful, and joyful. I have experience working with anxiety, substance use, depression, life changes and transitions, relationship and family issues, and trauma/PTSD. I like to use a blend of interventions in my practice based on my client's preferences but enjoy blending mindfulness practices, trainspotting, CBT, psychodynamic therapy, and attachment theory, among others. I am constantly learning and evolving my practice in response.
My therapeutic approach is humanistic and existential. For me, this means that I will follow your lead as we work collaboratively to develop goals and create positive change. Sessions with me are filled with empathy, support, and a bit of humor at times. I want you to know yourself, accept yourself, and learn to become your own biggest cheerleader.
My hope for our work together is that you will feel safe, supported, and comfortable in our sessions. My experience as a therapist (and a human) has taught me how easy it is to care deeply for people who truly share themselves with you. We can work collaboratively on setting the tone in sessions, and I will guide you every step of the way.
