When patients feel unable to move outside of their 'comfort zones' they begin to experience frustration and hopelessness. Understanding and altering these patterns promotes lasting change. My years of experience have made me comfortable with others and have given me a great deal of hope and passion for the process and benefits of psychotherapy.
I've been working with people for over 20 years and have been a licensed clinical psychologist for 20 years. I have extensive experience working with people suffering from depression, anxiety and panic, PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), bipolar disorder, interpersonal problems, gender issues, occupational difficulties, and psychotic conditions.
I've been trained in multiple disciplines, including cognitive and cognitive-behavioral, psychoanalytic, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) including mindfulness meditation. I'm flexible in my work and feel equally comfortable with insight-oriented therapy and with analysis of coping abilities and teaching more effective life skills.
