About
We all face problems in living. If you find yourself in a difficult situation that you could be handling better, I'm here to help you process your concerns and ways of addressing them. My goal is to help you manage your problems more effectively or even transcend them by eliciting new possibilities. I can also be helpful when it's not a question of what's going wrong but of what could be better. Most of us use only a portion of our potential and can live much more creatively. If you're feeling like you're just not as effective as you'd like to be, I can help you take advantage of missed opportunities and unused potential.
Whether you find yourself involved in a troubling situation or feeling like you're not living as fully as you could be, at the heart of my work is a desire to empower you to see and call upon your own strengths and abilities. My work is about enabling you to design and redesign your life by helping you find your own personal motivation for positive change.
My approach to therapy is person-centered, strengths-based, and culturally sensitive, based primarily in cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ teenagers and adults, both when gender and sexuality are the focus of therapy and when other aspects of life are being addressed.
