Groups
DBT for eating disorders
Primary group objective is to decrease behaviors that interfere with quality of life. We work toward decreasing and ultimately, eradicating impulsive, suicidal, and self-injurious behaviors while enhancing one's ability to cope more effectively with difficult feelings. Disordered eating behaviors are primary targets of the work. Restriction, binging, purging, and/or abuse of exercise are closely tracked and skills for changing these behaviors are reinforced so that participants may effectively work toward balanced, healthful eating and self care. The group will cover all four of the DBT modules: core mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Supported Dining
My personal practice is part of a collaboration of clinicians called Columbus Park. An advantage of this affiliation is access to additional services, if indicated, including an Intensive Outpatient Program for eating disorders, comprehensive DBT groups, and supported dining for those clients who grapple with eating difficulties.
