My style is warm, and genuine. While I may challenge my clients at times I always work at a pace that feels comfortable to them. I enjoy working with children, adolescents and adults who want to make changes in their lives, even if they don't know how or whether change is possible. I specialize in eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and interpersonal concerns, and believe that these struggles are often a manifestation of individuals trying to solve problems using the only tools they have. My job is to provide support and guidance in the development of new, more effective tools.
I specialize in eating disorders and am certified in Family-Based Therapy (FBT-i.e. the Maudsley Method), the only evidence based treatment for adolescent anorexia. I also use cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, psychodynamic, and dialectical-behavioral techniques in my work.
I have trained at the Stanford University Eating Disorders Clinic with the founders of Family-Based Therapy, and continue to work there as a faculty member in addition to my private practice. I have experience working with multi-disciplinary teams, and frequently provide trainings to physicians and local community members.
