About
Psychotherapy gives you the opportunity to establish a healing relationship in which you can become aware of your strengths and challenges in a safe space in order to recognize the changes you want to make in your life and appreciate the qualities that are worth holding onto. Quite simply, it is a process of taking ownership of your own life. To help you do so, I provide a respectful, collaborative, and kind listening space. For me, it is most important that you feel that you are the expert in your life. I have found that this type of experience helps my clients enjoy a better quality of life and experience relief from distress.
I am a bilingual (E/S) Licensed Professional Counselor with graduate degrees in counseling and psychology and have received postgraduate training in several psychotherapeutic approaches, including psychoanalytic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, trauma-informed psychotherapy, EMDR, family therapy, mindfulness, and harm reduction.
I have over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults struggling with a diverse set of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, family conflict, school problems, eating disorders, gender and sexuality issues, multicultural and acculturation issues, among others.
