About
I am an LMFT specializing in the treatment of children, adolescents, and adults with Autism and other Special Needs diagnoses. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT is a 3rd wave behavioral treatment that uses mindfulness practice) to treat both the individuals with special needs, their parents, families, partners, and siblings who are having difficulty coping with the stress brought on by these diagnoses. (Also, in lieu of the heightened levels of Anxiety and Depression due to Covid-19, I am seeing clients that feel affected mentally by the pandemic.)
I can help the special needs individual, and their family members learn how to manage the stress, anxiety, and depression that arises as a result of having a special needs diagnosis. I use ACTTherapy which helps to define one's values and helps them lead a meaningful and rich life by assisting clients in mindfully persevering through life's troubling times.
If you have a child or an adult receiving ABA services at home and/or at school and are burned out. If you find that your relationships are negatively affected by the stress of caring for individuals with special needs or you are a special needs individual experiencing difficulty in life, I can help you to live a life of meaning and vitality.
