Have you finished other therapies (by “graduating,” leaving, or “failing out”) without lasting change? Have you never felt safe to remove your masks, even in therapy, or struggle to tell the difference between you and them? These experiences often involve deeper questions about sense of self and identity (including personality) that many therapies don’t fully address. They take time, depth, and a different kind of attention. They may show up as depression, anxiety, or relationship concerns, but with a different root. And missing that root can keep us stuck.
We will use dynamic/analytic approaches to understand your story to its core so we can understand what shaped it and what's missing in order to feel more whole and integrated. We’ll notice patterns that pull you away from emotion or connection, use these ‘defenses’ as strengths, and work in a collaborative, present focused way to make deeper meaning.
My therapy style is curious, humorous, safe, genuine, and to the point. I love working at the intersection of science and creativity in therapy (many of the approaches I use are evidence-informed), and enjoy learning the worlds of my clients. I do this from a humanistic, zoomed-out perspective. I also specialize in legal involvement and assessments.
