Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW, CASAC
Throughout my years in practice, I have observed that whether I am treating an addiction, a couple in disarray, or anxiety and depression, there are similar themes that tend to surface. The symptoms may manifest as substance abuse, perfectionism, codependency, or obsessive thinking, but underlying the prevailing symptoms can be found a core filled with pain and confusion from a lifetime of living with a low self-esteem, a lack of identity, existential crisis, and life experiences that when unraveled, understood, and put into context, correlate into a fashion that is so revealing, the truth itself can set a person free.
What makes therapy effective? What exactly takes place within the confines of the therapeutic relationship? The therapeutic relationship is founded on acceptance, understanding, and genuine interest. These empathetic virtues are at the core of my therapeutic orientation, which establishes the accepting and nonjudgmental environment that facilitates change.
I work with couples that are in need of immediate help or are just looking to deepen their relationship, as well as individuals struggling with substance use, stagnation, low confidence, a feeling of inferiority, or just overall angst and confusion. Therapy is a deeply rewarding and authentic process and I look forward to being a part of your journey.
