For over twenty years I have been providing counseling to families where one or more members are experiencing anxiety, depression, family conflict, school avoidance and/or the adolescent’s initial expression is resistance to treatment. My adolescent clientele and their family members range from first time engagers of therapeutic support to those that have had multiple therapists. I have found that most adolescents overtly or secretly welcome support in navigating the delicate dance of dependence and individuation, once the therapist is able to develop an effective rapport.
This is not your typical on the couch therapy. Recent data supports the effectiveness of in-home, wraparound therapy with teens and families. I provide in-home and community based individual and family therapy, parent coaching and when appropriate, collaboration with schools, friends, family members & other providers. Whatever it takes to get us there.
It is not easy being a teenage nor raising one, especially in today's social media world. We are in an epidemic where anxiety and depression are prevalent. I will work diligently to understand your strengths and priorities, and develop a therapeutic road-map to guide positive change.
