Life can often be hard and nonsensical at times. Over the years I have discovered that no single approach is effective in therapy. Working collaboratively, I seek to create a space that allows us to make sense of your experiences. Meaning and purpose are not a given. They are cultivated as resources for mental wellness. I work with individuals and couples having difficulties and are looking to live more openly through the challenges they face.
My work spans twenty years with various populations that include community mental health, active duty military, couples and individuals. I work from an internal family systems perspective to understand how these internal parts or self states can co-opt our thoughts, moods, and resulting behaviors that in turn limit our roundedness and flexible self energy.
I am informed by my own journey integrating both the inner and outer worlds. It is my view that all of us are seeking to understand why we do the things we do and how to get some sense of control. I work from a broadly relational and inquisitive perspective.
