About
First and foremost, I love my work as a therapist. I bring to my mental health practice 17+ years of professional counseling experience assisting adults struggling with addictions, current and past trauma, personality disorders, mood instability, anxiety, and the like. My counseling experience includes facilitating open intensive outpatient therapy groups, in addition to guiding individual sessions. My therapy approach focuses on the person's strengths utilizing a cognitive behavioral (CBT) framework and incorporates dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) insight and lessons. My patients and I also laugh a lot.
I trained in New Mexico with the developers of Motivational Interviewing. I have received certification as a lay chaplain through the Community of Hope. I am a trained yoga teacher through the Yoga Alliance and trauma-sensitive yoga.
My work with patients continues to teach me a tremendous amount about human resiliency and a person's ability to heal psychologically and spiritually. I consider myself privileged to be invited by individuals to assist with such deep exploration and enlightenment.
