I am both a psychoanalyst and a licensed clinical social worker. In my experience, psychoanalytic psychotherapy has proven to be one of the best treatments for obtaining long-lasting results and consistent life changes that one desires. Often, that includes uncovering the roots or relationship patterns and decreasing symptoms of depression and anxiety.
Psychological conditions are not simply external problems to be overcome but rather an expression of our internal world. The best way to understand one's internal world is with a non-judgemental stance, remaining curious rather than to pathologize. I offer supervision for therapists who are interested in deepening their understanding of pychoanalytic theory.
