Welcome! My name is Dan. I use he/him pronouns. I am a licensed psychologist in general practice at Sojourn Psychotherapeutics, LLC in the East End of Pittsburgh. I work with individuals, couples, and families. In addition to general practice, I also specialize in LGBTQIA+ mental health and climate-aware psychotherapy. - Note, 05/21/25: Thank you for your interest in my profile. My waitlist is full and I cannot accept any new referrals. I will update this page as soon as my casebook opens again.
Here are some examples of therapeutic goals my clients commonly bring to therapy: identifying and managing mental health symptoms, finding greater motivation and focus in daily life, understanding attachment style, identity exploration, deprogramming internalized stigma, rehabilitating family relationships, and healing from trauma.
If you feel like any part of this page speaks to you, you are more than welcome to reach out. I love my job and consider it a privilege to serve my community. If you have any questions, click the "Email Me" button and leave me a message. I typically respond within 2 business days.

The most prevalent concerns my clients bring into therapy are depression, anxiety, and trauma. In session, my clients commonly want to discuss things like family dynamics, emotion regulation, ADHD, and neurodivergence. I also work with clients on issues with relationships such as attachment style, finding closure, conflict management, and exploring sexual preferences and non-monogamy.

I have extensive experience with various therapies. I also believe that the single most important change factor in psychotherapy is the therapeutic relationship itself. This requires certain intangibles like warmth, trust, credibility, openness, rapport, and authenticity. The level of interpersonal "fit" between a therapist and a client determines so much about what happens in therapy.
