About
The key to a happy and satisfying life is good relationships. My specialty is helping individuals and couples work through relationship issues. Improving our ability to communicate and work through stressful situations means a better chance of building a good job, loving relationships, and a sense of stability. As a counselor, my role is to help you connect with your strengths and to find balance, meaning, and satisfaction in your life. Helping others on this path is deeply rewarding to me.
When working with couples I first help to identify and reduce areas of conflict that increasingly cause tension and pain. Often this involves simple agreements and plans. Once a sense of safety has been established, we then work to identify and address the underlying issues that created the conflict.
When working with individuals I focus on providing a safe space that promotes a stance of compassion, curiosity, and acceptance. Often people coming into therapy are focused on what they believe to be wrong with them, hoping to change. Instead, we take a gentler approach of self-discovery that ultimately feels better and is more productive.
