My name is Daisy Ramos, I am licensed to practice in the state of New Mexico as an LPCC. My approach to therapy is person centered, I want to meet my clients wherever they may be. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally and comfortable with different cultures and backgrounds. My goal is to make my clients feel safe and seen in session. My theoretical approach is psychodynamic, I relate much of my work towards family history and identifying balance within life. I pull a lot from Adlerian therapy, however this viewpoint does not shy me away from CBT/DBT/MI/and REBT.
I have experience working with adolescents/families/adults. My areas of specialty are trauma/depression/anxiety; however, I am comfortable working with eating disorders, cultural and identity issues.
First session we will typically build rapport and identify the tone for our working relationship. It is important for the client to feel a mutual fit with the clinician in order to create a safe working relationship. We identify goals and explore “wants” for therapy, while exploring background and history.
