Ever been in a situation where you felt like there was no escape? No where to run. No where to hide? Most importantly no one to talk to? When asked why I wanted to be a therapist, my reason why is for those individuals who feel as though there is nowhere to go. My why is for those who lost sight of happy endings because they have grown up through survival instead of being nurtured. My why is for those who feel trapped in discomfort and suffocated from their anxiety. My why is for you.
In my therapeutic world, I take a person-centred approach rooted in openness, empathy, and vulnerability, while integrating Play Therapy for the kiddos! I work with children and adolescents, ages 6–18, and collaborate closely with their families. Additionally, A deep root of my purpose lies in supporting Black girls and Women of color.
The first thing I always acknowledge is the immense bravery it takes to take that first step. As we begin this journey together, know this: you are never alone.
