About
Hi! My name is Cynthia Velasquez, LAMFT (Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist). I specialize in helping individuals, couples and families who struggle with issues in communication, lack of distress tolerance skills, wanting to cope appropriately and prioritizing wanting a better understanding of how to have a solution focused mindset to fix their issues. This has been my passion for many years and I am excited to finally provide a safe space for all!
I have experience working with the adolescent and adult populations in PHP/IOP levels of care along with clients in an outpatient setting, dealing with anxiety, depression, bipolar, addiction, personality disorders, and psychosis, to name a few.
I am working as a psych clinician in PHP/IOP program. I have facilitated groups, such as; communication skills, anger management, relationships, self-awareness, self-esteem, families affected by addiction, as well as relapse prevention. I utilize a calm, caring, nonjudgmental approach while implementing humor and, when necessary, a firm and assertive stance.
