My passion is helping people who have experienced emotional and physical trauma, neurocognitive deficits or medical injury/issues. I create a safe but challenging environment for people. Based upon IFS, I believe we all have multiple parts of ourselves and a core self within each of us that can help guide, and eventually heal our burdened parts. I believe in the incredible power of the mind and the magnificence of the human spirit. I use cognitive retraining, hypnotherapy, EMDR, IFS, HRV, and Neurofeedback (NFB) to help achieve self regulation, an internal cohesive connection and an improved quality of life.
My background in the neuropsychology department at Rockford Memorial Hospital helped deepen my skill and passion for working in this area of specialty. My 26 years in the behavioral health field has allowed me to expand my understanding of the limits of traditional therapy. I have invested in training and technology that helps the brain/body self regulate.
I have personal knowledge of how to effectively cope with trauma and manage pain. I sustained a spinal cord injury in 1991. I was paralyzed from the neck down, confined to a wheel chair that I operated by blowing in a straw. I now walk with a cane. I have learned to access and utilize the incredible power of the mind to reduce suffering.

As a Syzygy L3 trained therapist, I use IFS combined with EMDR. In our treatment sessions we will focus on understanding the different parts of your system and how they work together. All parts have good intentions. Your parts hold healthy roles, protective roles or burdens. Identifying, getting to know, and witnessing your parts using the stabilizing experience of BLS allows for deep healing.
