During this time of corona virus and shelter-in-place, it is common for people to struggle emotionally. Many of us feel distress with what is unknown; we are used to staying busy to avoid difficult feelings. Anxiety, depression, isolation, loneliness, relationship challenges, worries, fears, the inner critic, childhood memories, past failures, feeling helpless, among others, can all feel overwhelming. During this time our most vulnerable selves are exposed. What we often miss with a crisis, is the opportunity for growth that is possible. I am here to help you not only survive, but thrive.
For couples, shelter-in-place can be particularly challenging. You might face such differences as response to isolation, financial uncertainty, how to stay safe, how to keep your kids safe, how to navigate conflicting information, dealing with old patterns that come up and communication break down—I am here to help you come together and find common ground.
Telehealth works well and is a good option while sheltering. For couples I am trained in EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy). EFT focuses on the significance of healthy emotional attachment in couples, and is an effective method for working to improve relationships. I look forward to helping you create a more satisfying and meaningful life.
