In my practice, I provide a supportive environment that allows an opportunity for people to be listened to in a manner that is different from interactions they may have with family or friends. I attempt to provide counseling tools that can help those who are experiencing difficulty to gain increased awareness of positive steps they can take to better manage situations that create problems for them. I have helped people who are adjusting to life changes that are stressful, and I also work with those who have developed more lasting symptoms of anxiety or depression.
I have been a licensed counselor for over 25 years and hold advanced degrees in counseling psychology and social work. I practice as a licensed clinical social worker and I've had my own counseling practice for the past 22 years helping individuals. I am only providing individual counseling at my private practice.
I've worked in a variety of agency settings providing mental health services for specific groups that include children and families, veterans, and geriatric populations. I have also acquired training in pastoral/spiritual counseling and my work history includes serving in an agency that specialized in that area. I do not provide drug and alcohol counseling.
