Out-of-Network! I primarily use psychodynamic, systemic, experiential and culturally sensitive approaches to accompany the client throughout the journey of self discovery. With emphasis on awareness and insight, I encourage individuals and couples to seek solutions that resonate with their individual and relational needs. The struggle to overcome adverse experiences, can be a product of sociocultural system, family context, early attachment and relationships which reflect a stigmatized idea of self.

Hello lovely people, life is short and how can we live the best of it? How can you manage work stress and social anxiety? Do you often doubt yourself, feel lonely or sad, and can't find purpose in life? I believe psychotherapy is not only about curing or resolving pain, but also increasing awareness and understanding and accepting the full range of human emotion. It’s important to feel our different emotions and learn how to express ourselves fully. The beauty of our work together is finding your strengths and having an "aha moment" during our therapeutic process.

I believe mental health is just as important as medical health, since after all, your head is connected to your body. I offer individual therapy for adolescents and adults, bringing my experience within a number of integrative behavioral health programs to support clients' unique needs. Through a culturally-sensitive and trauma-informed lens, I work to foster the therapeutic relationship to gently challenge clients to get curious about how current patterns of behaviors and ways of thinking serve them.

I am committed to providing a safe, culturally sensitive working environment that fosters this exploration.
An exciting moment happens in therapy when a personal challenge is examined from a renewed perspective. In that moment, what once seemed difficult can take on new meaning. It has the potential to become a defining moment that inspires continued change, growth, and healing. Furthering this process is the potential realization that these ideas were already innate and just awaiting connection.

I hope to create an environment where people feel seen, heard, and understood in a culturally sensitive way.
People often come to therapy at challenging and difficult points in their lives. These moments often impact the relationship individuals have with themselves and others. These moments can also cause a lot of pain and confusion. Unresolved issues from previous experiences can get in the way of people living their lives to the fullest. During our work together, I hope to be a guide towards your journey of healing and wellness.

Welcome, thanks for stopping by. Many of us are carrying around the heavy burden of invisible challenges. Though they’re not noticeable—to others and sometimes even ourselves—they can make life feel more difficult, stressful, and at times even unmanageable. I am here to offer you support, so you’re not carrying that load alone. In our work, you will set the tone and I will be there to listen and foster a safe and judgment-free environment, so we can uncover the root of your distress, process your emotions, and develop beneficial coping skills, creating more space for peace in your life.

Culturally Sensitive Therapists

How does culturally sensitive therapy work?

A culturally sensitive therapist will tailor their approach to therapy based on the individual client’s background. This may include changing their style of interaction (asking open-ended questions vs. being the “expert” voice), their affect (seeming warm or “neutral”), how much personal information they disclose about themselves, and more. It’s also important for a culturally sensitive therapist to acknowledge larger societal forces that may impact their client due to the client’s background.

How effective is culturally sensitive therapy?

Some professionals have expressed concern about highlighting cultural differences in therapy, suggesting that it might promote stereotypes and harm the therapeutic bond; however, many experts agree that cultural sensitivity tends to strengthen the connection between therapist and client and help clients feel heard and understood. A culturally sensitive approach to therapy can be especially helpful for those not in the cultural majority, especially when combined with proven therapies like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).

What are the limitations of a culturally sensitive approach to therapy?

While being culturally sensitive is generally a valuable skill to have, a therapist cannot treat every client from a similar background the same way. Each client is an individual with their own values, personal preferences, and life experiences that will need to be explored during therapy. In addition, it’s rare for a therapist and client to have identical backgrounds, so there may be some cross-cultural differences to navigate during therapy, but a culturally sensitive therapist can do so with empathy and respect.

Can culturally sensitive therapy be done online?

Yes, online therapy using a culturally sensitive approach can be beneficial. Therapy can sometimes be difficult to access for clients from diverse backgrounds and socioeconomic standing. The array of mental health support available through the internet makes it possible for clients to find a good therapist match regardless of where they live.
