Greetings! I am Dr. Melita T. Stancil, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. I am passionate about providing practical and effective treatment that serves the individual as a whole person. My treatment for individuals and families is fueled by results from my own experience, scientific evidence and incorporating the patient’s values. In essence, each patient is cared for as a human being with unique needs. I received a Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical-Community Psychology at the University of South Carolina.
I integrate a variety of approaches and the use of therapeutic modalities such as, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Social Cognition Intelligence Training, Motivational Interviewing, Mentalization, Prolonged Exposure, and Positive Parenting among others. I am the Creator of the ATILEM (R) Therapeutic Frame.
In addition to my private clinical work in New York City and national speaking engagements, I am an author of four peer-reviewed scientific articles, a grant-funded community coalition project, and developed intervention for inpatient organizational development. I invite you to book a consultation. Office hours are 9 am - 6 pm EST.
