When a person is ready to make changes in their life, entering the counseling setting allows for a safe place explore, learn and discuss. I do not tell you what to do, but rather assist you in seeing all options. YOU make informed choices while learning natural consequences. You do all the work to empower yourself to make the changes in you life as you move forward.
Long time ago a wonderful mentor explained to me that positive outcomes in counseling occur when: 1) a person is seeking counseling, looking for answers and looking to make changes in their lives. 2) the counselor develops a warm, trusting safe environment so a person may speak freely and openly.
I am affiliated 3 days a week with Southern Tier Counseling Center in Elmira New York, accepting most insurances. In Broome County where I am located other days, I hold sessions in you home or electronic media . While insurances are not accepted, I have a sliding scale and accept cash or check.
