Everyone needs someone to talk to. I specialize in the treatment of children, adolescents, and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, oppositional behavior, school refusal, and developmental disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder. My professional experience is working with children and families with complex behavioral and emotional needs. I utilize strategies from both the Nurtured Heart Approach and culturally sensitive trauma informed care. My previous experience includes serving both English and Spanish speaking populations, and I am a Native Spanish speaker myself.

A 12 year-old patient recently commented that our work together is like "a cocoon" & that at the end of the sessions, she leaves "stronger, lighter, & free." This profound insight is so meaningful to me since this is precisely how I conceptualize how psychotherapy works. Counseling can only be done in a trusting, gentle, & protective manner. Within this safe vessel, it creates in the person a sense of trust that will enable them to tolerate frustration, persevere, have confidence, and subsequently develop loving attachments in their adult life. This in turn, positively impacts health, optimism, hope, and life satisfaction.

At Play And Talk With Us, we provide play and social skill groups for children 3 years and up. We welcome all children with or without neurodiverse needs. We work to develop skills in groups and support parents on generalizing them to the home and community. Skills we work on include, but are not limited to: developing joint attention - social play skills like turn taking, sharing, developing stages of play, and joining a group at play - social language skills including conversational turns and asking reciprocal questions/comments - social/emotional and self-regulation - nonverbal social language.

I provide social skills training to children and teenagers who have difficulty making and maintaining friendships - some of whom have autistic spectrum disorders. I see children and teenagers on an individual basis to work on behavioral issues and other concerns and will frequently involve the whole family in order to improve communication and other dynamics. I also provide neurofeedback therapy to children and adults with ADHD and other disorders.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and work with adults, young adults/college students, teens, adolescents, and children in individual therapy. I work with a diversity of clients struggling with life transitions and adjustments, anxiety disorders (general, OCD, phobias, panic), depression, communication issues, trauma, grief and loss, sexuality and gender identity, educational or occupational difficulties, executive functioning, and parenting/caretaking. When working with young children I always work with their parents as well. I also offer school observations, for children ages 3-10, as needed for assessment and planning.

Inner Clarity, LLC is a group private practice comprised of professionals with varying areas of specialization. Our main goal is to provide a warm, inviting, and relaxing environment for our clients to engage in individual, family, couples, and/or group therapy with a professional who is skilled in meeting their clinical needs. We are an out-of-network provider and would be happy to verify benefits prior to starting services. Our office is able to bill out of network directly, so patients are only responsible for coinsurance at the time of service after deductible is met, and any balance outside of what insurance covers.

Jennifer M. Coleman, MS, BCBA, LPC, LBS has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a concentration in Experimental Psychology from Moravian College, a masters’ degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology with a specialization in trauma, and post-graduate education in Applied Behavioral Analysis. Additionally, she holds a license as a professional counselor, a certification as a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst, and a license as a behavioral specialist. Jennifer is only accepting clients in New Jersey at this time.
