Psychodrama New Jersey is a multi-practitioner office. All practitioners use a combination of modalities to treat conditions such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, dysfunctional relationships patterns, behavioral issues, issues arising from difficult life transitions including health issues, past abuse and trauma. By combining different modalities, our practitioners are able to help you address issues from multiple directions.

Heather McCooey has experience working with adults with a variety of acute and chronic behavioral health issues such as- anxiety, depression and mood disorders as well as drug and alcohol use disorders and the impacts of these illnesses on families and loved ones. Ms. McCooey provides individual, family and group counseling to adults using cognitive behavioral, motivational and person centered therapies. She offers a thoughtful, down to earth and humorous demeanor and perspective in working with her clients and feels grateful to be a part of their journey towards self knowledge, improvement and change.

My goal is to arm you with tools to find a more fulfilling way of living; therapeutic tools that follow you out of my office door and into your life. I have learned firsthand how a strong therapeutic relationship can create an opportunity for transformative change. I am a licensed psychotherapist specializing in individual and familypsychotherapy and chemical dependency. I work with all aspects of addiction, both individually and within a family system. The couples I work with want to be unified and feel like they are together in their relationship. The adults want to be happy and content.
