I specialize in the treatment of children, adolescents, and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, oppositional behavior, school refusal, and developmental disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder. My professional experience is working with children and families with complex behavioral and emotional needs. I utilize strategies from both the Nurtured Heart Approach and culturally sensitive trauma informed care. My previous experience includes serving both English and Spanish speaking populations, and I am a Native Spanish speaker myself.

My professional experience over the last three decades consists of working in a variety of settings including College Counseling & Psychological Service, Emergency Room Crisis Intervention Counselor, Partial Care Programs, Community Mental Health Center, and Counseling Center for Pregnant Teens. For the past 23 years, I have counseled a diverse population of college students who have struggled with PTSD, Social and General Anxiety, Relationships, Depression, Trauma, Grief/loss, Bipolar Disorder, Personality Disorders and Life Transitions providing a collaborative relationship in a safe, open and nonjudgmental atmosphere. ​

Stress, anxiety, depression and relationship challenges are some of my specialty areas. For adolescents, the transition from high school to college can be stressful. Most people struggle with a variety of psychological issues/conflicts at some point in their lives - it's human nature. I have the life experiences and professional training to help. I have an objective, honest and straight forward approach. I'm easy to talk to, approachable, and self-disclose when necessary. I will be active and collaborative in our work together. I provide consultation, individual/couple/family psychotherapy from children to adults.

I have experience treating a variety of clients from young children, teens, parents, and grandparents. I have assisted them through traditional treatment as well as custody evaluations, bonding evaluations, reunification therapy, and learning assessments. In treatment, I have used EMDR skills to treat high levels of anxiety. My experience with depression and other mood disorders has spanned almost 20 years of practice in psychology. I work collaboratively with my clients. There is no question or experience too big or small for us to examine and unlock together.

I am a practicing psychologist with nearly 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, young adults and parents in both educational and mental health settings. Having earned a master’s degree in education and a doctorate in psychology, I have a distinct perspective of the whole person within broad contexts. I utilize an eclectic, holistic approach that is strength-based and solution-focused. I have experience working with all age groups. While my specialty areas of interest are grief/loss and couples therapy, I also see many clients with depression, anxiety, PTSD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, trauma, relationships, and various other mental health issues. Previously, I have worked in various settings, including Veteran Affairs Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation, Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, Joseph T. Quinlan Bereavement Center, school therapy, home therapy, and private practice.

For over 15 years, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults with various mental health needs. I hold a Master’s Degree in Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a Minor in Spanish from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
