I've been in private practice for many years now, and believe a therapist needs to have a sound practical understanding of human behavior and psychological difficulties. Therapy is about understanding one's life, problem symptoms and causes, and working towards greater health. I work with patients of all ages. I'm also familiar with the unique issues often relevant to men's development and treatment.
Traditional psychotherapy is irreplaceable with many current fads transient of no lasting value. Therapy should take place in a relaxed, mutually respectful professional relationship. There's no place for therapist disrespect, a dynamic that often derails treatment. Therapy is a rewarding endeavor but it's also your life and therefore a serious pursuit.
Like many other psychotherapists, I no longer participate with insurance companies. This allows me to better concentrate on therapy matters, not business. However, many clients can be significantly reimbursed by their insurance. I can assist you in this process. I look forward to getting to know you and our working together towards your greater health.
