Kristin Camorlinga, LCPC, received her Masters in Counseling from Loyola University in 2012. She specializes in working with children, adolescents and their families and has been doing so in different capacities since 1995. She has counseled bilingually in many settings including three schools, a domestic abuse shelter, two non-for-profits and two community public health agencies. She is passionate about helping people overcome mental health difficulties so they can reach their greatest potential and live their best life.

I am a licensed child psychologist with extensive experience in providing therapeutic services to children, adolescents, emerging adults, and families. My specialization lies in helping clients navigate through various challenges such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, peer and family stress, learning, behavioral and attention difficulties, life transitions, trauma, separation, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts. Additionally, I offer guidance to parents, helping them understand their children's challenges and strengths more deeply, enhance family communication and connection, and learn effective parenting and coping skills.

Hello! I am a trauma-informed therapist who is fluent in Spanish and an ally to the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. I am certified in Crisis Intervention and am drawn to clients who can relate to domestic violence, human trafficking, depression, anxiety, ADHD, life transitions, and complex trauma. I also can help if you have trouble with sleep, motivation, phobias or stress. I see children, adolescents, adults, and families. Starting therapy is a life changing experience that requires a safe, non-judgmental, and empathetic approach to begin the healing process. I've worked with many adolescents and adults to address various mental health and substance use issues. I view "issues" and "problems" as external from the individual and the problem at hand is comprised of many different factors that require different types of interventions. Therefore, my approach is to motivate my clients to start addressing each factor based on their own needs and goals.

I have experience and knowledge working with individuals who live with; depression, anxiety, bi-polar, personality disorders, schizophrenia, PTSD, substance abuse disorder, suicide and self-harm, LGBTQ+, and grief. I have an education in evidence-based therapies, such as but not limited to: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, motivational interviewing, harm-reduction, and SMART recovery. However, just because you might know what you're "supposed to do" to feel better, change your thought patterns, or improve your family dynamics doesn't mean it's easy to actually do it. Humans are endlessly adaptive, yet persistently stubborn. We just need to figure out what works for you.

I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults. That being said, I believe that our natural state is one of peace and contentment.
