After working in the mental health field for 19 years I have found most issues leading to therapy are rooted from unresolved trauma. I believe an individual can heal from all of their trauma when working with a competently trained trauma healing therapist. I have seen young and old client's lives change, as well as, relationships improved through trauma healing. I work with individuals, relationships, and groups. I also have experience in sexual, chemical, and process addiction treatment. Further, I work with existential crises guiding clients to find meaning and purpose.

Depression and anxiety are at an all-time high, especially among children, teens, and young adults. Their mental health is controlled by peers, social media, and high expectations administered by family. Sometimes, a traumatic event occurs and their lives spin out of control. Many individuals who struggle with their mental health at such a young age begin to fill the void of what they believe is missing in their lives with negative vices. Some, unfortunately, turn to self-harm and have suicidal ideations.

My education, work experience and trainings have focused on helping individuals who have experienced trauma in many forms. I've work with families and individuals from birth through adulthood. I have experience working with adolescents and adults in the LGBTQIA+ community. My background working with children and caregivers in the hospital setting has given me a unique opportunity to work with various medical conditions and extensive healthcare trauma.

His career has included working in residential addiction treatment, private practice, church leadership, challenge course facilitation, foster care, adventure based counseling, and a cutting edge primary care medical clinic.

I primarily work with adolescent males (i.e., ages 13-26), but I also have experience working with young adults who are single or married. I also have experience providing pre-marital through Prepare/Enrich for couples that are considering marriage. My work with clients addresses a range of issues, including family conflict, addiction, depression, anxiety, and other issues. I am trained to provide EMDR and Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP) to my clients in addition to bringing my training as a Certified Trauma Therapist (CTT-Intern) and a Sex Addiction Therapist (ASAT)to bear on these issues.

With a background in outpatient clinic settings, school-based environments, and university counseling settings, they are dedicated to guiding individuals and families toward healing and growth. As a bilingual Belgian-American citizen, Laurent is sensitive to cross-cultural experiences and is dedicated to holding space for everyone, especially LGBTQIA+ individuals and families.
