I am a licensed clinical psychologist providing brief psychotherapy for individual adults who are struggling with anxiety, addictions (including compulsive sexual behaviors), career dissatisfaction and indecision, relationship conflict, problematic anger, parenting stress, mild depression, and insomnia. I work best with clients who have a clear understanding of their problems, and are strongly motivated to constructively develop, during and between sessions, the skills and resources necessary to achieve their healthy goals.

Traumatic and stressful life experiences have made it challenging for you to live life the way that you want. You find yourself struggling with thoughts like, " I'm not good enough", "I'm a failure", or the feeling that "something is wrong" with you. You've struggled with anxiety or depression for as long as you can remember. Living this way is exhausting, and you want something different. Regular talk therapy can be helpful, but sometimes it's not enough. Brain- and body-based therapies, such as Somatic Experiencing, Brainspotting, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing ( EMDR) can help.

My experiences living in Africa, Europe and the USA (moved here in 1997) have fostered my keen appreciation for various teaching, learning, and developmental approaches to counseling/therapy. I believe in establishing trust in order to truly be able to have a positive impact.

I am experienced in assisting clients to reach their self-realization and help them find peace of their minds again. Yes! That's why we called it's a "mind spa"! I am a person-centered therapist who use holistic approach as my goal is to empower and motivate clients. I draw a variety of modalities (CBT, mindfulness, and Ericksonian hypnosis) to meet clients' needs.

I currently work with adolescents and adults of all ages in individual therapy and have a special focus in working with clients holding marginalized identities (e.g., racial/ethnic, sexual, and gender minorities). My ideal client is someone who is willing to bring as much of themselves into the room (e.g., social/cultural identities, personal experiences, emotions, thoughts, and behaviors) in order to foster more self-awareness, growth, and make meaningful life changes.

Being a human can be really hard sometimes. Maybe it’s hard because there’s an area in our lives where we struggle, like in our careers or relationships. Perhaps, we’ve experienced some painful times that we haven’t fully healed from or find ourselves engaging in problematic behaviors. Whatever our struggles, I’ve found that psychotherapy can help reduce our suffering and help connect us to the joy of being alive.

I am a psychiatric medication management provider. I do take insurance. Due to Covid, however, some people have lost their jobs and insurance, or are dealing with part time which does not offer health insurance benefits. Keeping up with appointments is difficult. If you need to see a psychiatric medication management provider and need to pay cash, please do not hesitate to contact me. Cash fees will be $100 for a 40 minute initial appointment.
