Study after study indicates that what "works" in therapy is the quality of the relationship between the client and therapist. I create a strong relationship in which my clients feel safe and understood while sharing and exploring their lives.
I conceptualize from a psychodynamic orientation and contour treatment to the specific needs of the individual.
My therapeutic style is filled with genuineness, respect, warmth, empathy, and humor. I like to have clients reconsider what have seemed like life's "givens," take the risk to envision what is possible, and grow into their full potential.
I offer individual psychotherapy to clients aged 18 through adulthood. I have specialized training and particularly enjoy counseling college and graduate students. Helping these individuals navigate challenges (relationship issues, anxiety/depression, and disordered eating) to create successes is the primary focus of my practice.
