In Person Therapists in Westport, CT

My clients come in with many different troubles and often, the troubles lead to a great many other problems that they have or have had in their lives. There is no problem too big and there is a way to live better. I believe we are looking for contentment. To feel "okay" and, today's society tries to warp us into believing we are not okay because we need something else than what we have right now. We all have the capacity to choose a better life, better relationships, better care for ourselves. The answer is not outside of us but within. I work with children, teens and adults that think they're not enough. We are all enough.

Therapy is an empowering experience which allows you to have a stronger sense of yourself while working on how to better manage obstacles. I work with people to focus on skills for how to move forward in your life. This is done by creating greater self-awareness and exploring difficult thought patterns and emotions. It is important to me that people feel understood and validated while also creating a space for self-discovery and healing. I work with people struggling with anxiety and depression as well as intimacy and relationship issues. I also specialize in working with chaotic eating patterns and body image dissatisfaction.

Is your child or teen dealing with anxiety, OCD, or depression? Do they feel frustrated, sad, stuck, irritable, and lonely? Symptoms like poor school performance, family conflicts, weak peer ties, and physical issues (e.g., stomachaches, headaches, sleep problems) often indicate their struggle. They may battle repetitive negative thoughts, suggesting impending doom, inadequacy, or harm, causing distress. These challenges not only hurt the child but also disrupt family harmony, leaving parents heartbroken.

Choosing a therapist is a very important decision. It is difficult to know where to start, what to look for or what questions to ask during an interview. To make this easier for you, I say- let's get to know each other. In an atmosphere of compassion and acceptance, we will talk about you and what brings you joy. Providing a safe and accepting environment where you can feel comfortable to speak freely and openly is of the utmost importance to me.

Challenges cause stress and too much stress may diminish the joy and satisfaction once felt. I am a psychoanalyst/psychotherapist and parent/child specialist with over twenty years of experience helping children, teens, and adults navigate relationship issues.
