I have had the pleasure of working as a therapist to adolescents and adults for more then 20 years. Having started my career in a school setting, I have a strong foundation of the struggles and challenges adolescents experience in school and beyond. I use a client centered and cognitive behavioral approach to counseling. Using aspects of CBT, narrative and solution focused therapy, clients gain self awareness and develop strategies to reduce feelings of anxiety and/or mild depression.

I am seeing new patients in person and via telehealth.
I help kids, teens, and adults over 50 manage everyday challenges and feelings of anxiety and depression. I have specialized experience working with boys ages 7 through early adulthood, and older patients facing later life challenges like retirement, loss of a life partner, and serious illness. I help kids and teens adjust to new school environments, deal with academic and peer pressure, bullying, and sports performance issues. I counsel older adults through grief and uncertainty and later-life losses. Many clients seeking out my help often need support for anxiety, depression, ADHD/ADD, OCD, defiance disorders and acting out.

If you are looking for a therapist who is warm, insightful, trustworthy and effective, I would like to offer assistance. It has been my life's work to connect with adults, teens and children and help them move through challenging life transitions to solutions that work. With many years of experience, I am able to offer a broad range of therapies. In an environment where clients feel heard and understood, I have seen heart-warming results as adults achieve their goals, as couples build new and better relationships, and as children and adolescents become more effective and comfortable within themselves.

You’re tired of holding everything together while still feeling unseen, disconnected, or not fully yourself. Maybe you overthink, overgive, shut down, people-please, or ask why it still feels so hard to feel safe, loved, or enough. I specialize in helping adults, couples, and parents to gently understand, heal, and transform the deeper emotional and relational patterns that keep you stuck. Together, we can deal with issues at their root so that life and relationships can feel secure, connected, and more fulfilling.

Choosing a therapist is a very important decision. It is difficult to know where to start, what to look for or what questions to ask during an interview. To make this easier for you, I say- let's get to know each other. In an atmosphere of compassion and acceptance, we will talk about you and what brings you joy. Providing a safe and accepting environment where you can feel comfortable to speak freely and openly is of the utmost importance to me.

My one goal is to help you live an authentically joyful and fulfilling life. Anxiety and depression might be reasons for considering therapy but we often ignore or fail to recognize experiences of trauma. Unresolved trauma results in emotions and bodily feelings that keep you "stuck" in your life. Personal tragedies can cause trauma but trauma is also the cumulative result of every day stressors, such as COVID, relationship issues, employment, FOMO, and social media use. As a result, we may then experience negative emotional states that cause us to get pulled into unproductive and even harmful relationships and social situations.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
