I have always gained great satisfaction from helping people feel happier and in learning more effective ways to achieve more fulfilling lives. Those clients who are eager and open to learning more about themselves in order to achieve these goals benefit most from my approach as a therapist. I often focus, therefore, on insight, meaning, and symbols (including dream interpretation)in order to help clients establish a more positive and accepting perspective of themselves and others. In therapy, I work with obstacles against achieving these goals that include anxiety, depression, addictions,
anger
, and interpersonal and relationship issues.

You are not alone - many people secretly struggle with trauma, anxiety,
anger
, depression, compulsions and relationship problems and only get partial relief from traditional 45-minute talk therapy and medication.
Frustrated with traditional 45-minutes-a-week talk therapy? Tired of therapists who just ask "What do you want to talk about today?" - I specialize in 3-HOUR SESSIONS helping you achieve up to 3 month's worth of therapy in each session. 3-HOUR SESSIONS give you enough time to get to the root and core, break through emotional walls and leave each session with less baggage than you came in with.

In these very challenging and demanding times, people are confronted with feelings of
anger
, depression, and anxiety. Tension and frustration have become the norm but many lack the proper tools to manage them. Struggling and confused as to what course of action to take, they often revert to old and often destructive habit patterns in a desperate attempt to find relief. Finding it difficult to discover a sense of true or lasting meaning and purpose, they become embroiled in conflicts at home or at work leaving them feeling alone and isolated, disconnected from themselves and the world around them.

I work predominately with issues as marital conflict, parenting, depression,
anger management
, ADHD, substance abuse, adolescent behavior problems and supporting dads of divorce.
As a marriage and family therapist, I am uniquely trained to identify, track and break patterns between couples & families in conflict. I work toward helping individuals, couples and families take an active role in creating the kind of change they desire. Marriages are not meant to merely SURVIVE, but rather to THRIVE. In couples counseling I help parties develop greater insight into their relationship and maintain a mindfulness toward its growth. Through focusing on action steps, I actively challenge individuals and couples to take accountability for their own thoughts and behavior as opposed to assessing their partner's.

Are you ready to forgive yourself and others who have significantly impacted your life? Through learning to forgive you can deepen your awareness of what may prevent you from having more joy, love, and peace in your life. When you are not ready to forgive you can easily get stuck in a cycle of depression,
anger
, fear and anxiety. We all have innate wisdom and knowing that allows us to heal from any trauma or difficult life experience. Therapy is about coming to understand and know you have basic goodness as a human being. I will help you connect with that inner wisdom and knowing to create more meaning and purpose in your life.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.
How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.
Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.
What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
