I’ve spent the past 10 years working with teens and families through all kinds of life’s ups and downs — anxiety, family stress, identity questions, you name it. What I’ve learned is that therapy works best when it’s real, honest, and feels like a good fit. I’m kind, funny, and a little bit curious by nature — which means I’ll ask questions, but I’ll also listen and laugh with you when you need it. Building trust takes time, and that’s something I value deeply. It doesn’t matter what degrees I have hanging on the wall if you don’t feel like you can talk to me. So, let’s give it a shot and see if the shoe fits.

That light at the end of the tunnel? We aren’t going to wait for it—we’re going to build the path out. I use a directive approach to challenge your distortions and tackle issues at the root. No fluff, just the work required to get you back on your feet.

Hello and thank you for stopping by to read my profile! With over 20 years of experience, I know that life has no shortage of struggle, but I believe that connection is what makes the difference. It is through this support that we can learn and even re-learn how to love ourselves and live a life we are happy to lead.

I work best with people in recovery from substance use disorders, trauma & PTSD, mood disorders, ADHD, and mental health challenges associated with perimenopause and menopause- or all of the above!
Choosing to enter therapy is a brave act of self-care. I believe that our systems are trying to tell us something when we are experiencing mental health symptoms, so let's figure out what the message is and learn how to work with the information, instead of fighting against it. As a clinician, I do my best to provide a safe environment where you can discover that information at a rate you are comfortable with. I do my part to help add some new tools to your toolkit to help you improve your ability to navigate life’s challenges, but ultimately, the journey is yours, so you set the pace. Let’s see where it can take you!

Do you find yourself drinking more and more due to stress at work or issues in your relationships? You think you have it under control but know deep down, it may be time to talk to someone and are feeling embarrassed. I understand that asking for help can be hard and believe that by reflecting on what's currently contributing to your drinking will help motivate you to make changes. You want to feel better and drink less and I can help support you in cutting back and getting back into doing things you once enjoyed.

I combine clinical expertise with movement-based strategies (Yoga, Pilates, & Resistance training), to provide a comprehensive treatment plan for all ages dealing with anxiety, depression, substance use, PTSD, & or co-occurring disorders.
Recent research highlights significant impact of combining physical activity with mindfulness on mental health. A 2023 University of Southampton study found this combination highly effective, while Harvard Health research indicates that yoga, Pilates, and resistance training are particularly beneficial for managing anxiety and depression. Additionally, public health data suggests, just 15 minutes of running or one hour of walking daily can reduce the risk of depression by 26%. At Tri Life Wellness, our practice is rooted in these findings. We use strategies to address the mind body and soul simultaneously.

Substance Use Therapists
How do substance and drug recovery or rehabilitation programs work?
In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other clients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals reside at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff often also includes people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other methods.

How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.

How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for substance use reduce the amount of drugs they consume. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.

Are there specific medications for substance and drug use?
There are medications approved to treat substance use disorder—such as buprenorphine, methadone, naltrexone, and acamprosate. These medications do help people cope with substance use as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone can help reduce cravings, methadone is an opioid medication used to treat severe pain, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.
