That light at the end of the tunnel? We aren’t going to wait for it—we’re going to build the path out. I use a directive approach to challenge your distortions and tackle issues at the root. No fluff, just the work required to get you back on your feet.

I act as an advocate for parents and children to best meet their needs.
Welcome! If you are here, chances are that you are looking for help. That's okay! Everyone needs help sometimes. In my experience, it's better to ask for it and get it than to struggle and continue to beat yourself up over things. Even for people who don't believe they need counseling/therapy, there are many things they could work on to improve themselves. Whether it's relationships, school or career performance, problem solving or just wanting to become a better person, I believe I can help. Don't you deserve a better, happier life?

If your life looks “together” on the outside but feels heavy inside, you’re not alone. I help women and couples in high-pressure seasons—new babies, career pivots, moves, or the daily mental load—who feel stretched thin and unsure who they are right now. Maybe motherhood shifted your identity, you’re debating how and when to re-enter work in a community with big expectations, or you and your partner keep defaulting to logistics instead of feeling like a team. In therapy, we slow things down, make space for what you want, and practice simple moves that bring relief at home: clearer communication, warmer connection, steadier days.

Are you beginning to ask yourself the deeper questions; what am I doing with my life? What’s important to me? What’s next? Who am I?! Stepping into my office is where we begin the work. It can be uncomfortable, it can be gut wrenching, but getting know yourself enough to trust your intuition and set your own intentions is how we center you in your own story. You are the main character in your life. Recognizing how we often overextend ourselves and act in a way that is not in alignment with what we want, is how we stop chipping away at everything that makes us, US.

My foundational training as a Clinical Social Worker has been enhanced with advanced trauma training including EMDR, relational / attachment work as a Circle of Security Parent Facilitator, Buddhist psychology and mindfulness.
Some common areas I work with include anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, life transitions, and relationship issues (couples, parent/child). I believe that symptoms of depression and anxiety emerge when we feel disconnected, or when we experience things that are overwhelming that lead to symptoms of trauma.

Parenting Therapists
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
