I’ve spent the past 10 years working with teens and families through all kinds of life’s ups and downs — anxiety, family stress, identity questions, you name it. What I’ve learned is that therapy works best when it’s real, honest, and feels like a good fit. I’m kind, funny, and a little bit curious by nature — which means I’ll ask questions, but I’ll also listen and laugh with you when you need it. Building trust takes time, and that’s something I value deeply. It doesn’t matter what degrees I have hanging on the wall if you don’t feel like you can talk to me. So, let’s give it a shot and see if the shoe fits.

Starting therapy can feel intimidating. My goal is to create a comfortable space where you can talk openly and feel understood. Many of my clients struggle with self-blame, self-doubt, and feeling misunderstood by others. They often want to understand why they react the way they do and how to make things feel more manageable. We will work to identify patterns, break down executive functioning challenges into practical steps, and reshape relationship dynamics.

It's really hard to know yourself. To know what you want, who you are, and how to move through the world with a sense of confident authenticity. Learning to understand and accept oneself can feel like a never-ending uphill battle. Even once you know yourself, it can be hard to actually be that person - especially in the face of lack of acceptance from others - and an inability to be yourself always prevents you from consistent satisfaction. If you are someone who is struggling with their sense of identity or how they show up, both individually and in their relationships, then I am the right therapist for you.

Typically, the usual approach to addiction begins with the premise that something is broken, and needs to be fixed. You will often be given a list of things to do,and a time frame to do it in. I believe that my job is to help you reflect on why you behave and think the way that you do, and coach you to begin the process of making the changes you need to make in your life in order to heal. Change begins with you. It is important to become more solution-focused, and not distracted by worry and anxiety.

I work with individuals who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves or others. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, relationship challenges, or significant life transitions. Some come to therapy feeling unsure of who they are or how they got to this point, while others are seeking deeper healing after years of coping on their own. Often, the individuals I work with are insightful and motivated but find themselves repeating patterns that no longer serve them. They are looking for clarity, relief, and a more meaningful way of living.

I provide hybrid clinical therapy and telehealth services to individual and families seeking mental health support in a safe clinical environment. I believe that everyone needs support throughout their life span in order to be best version of themselves. The greatest challenge to seeking support is dealing with the stigma of how therapeutic counseling is perceived. It is my focus to create an, inviting, safe and caring environment for each of my clients to unburden, to address their stress/trauma and begin the healing process.

Have you ever considered seeking therapy but didn’t know where to begin, what to discuss or what the experience could be like? Maybe people in your life have mentioned that it could be helpful. Maybe you are looking for a different perspective on a familiar circumstance, or to gain insight into your life, learn skills to cope with challenges, understand the impact of your culture on your worldview or even simply improve your quality of life? Maybe you are navigating a new phase of life or an unexpected stressor. If any of this sounds familiar, you are not alone, and I am happy you are here.

Does insurance cover therapy, prescriptions and other behavioral health services?
In general, yes. Laws in the U.S. require insurers to cover essential behavioral health care at the same level as other health care services. Most health plans require a medical diagnosis and treatments that are evidence based and medically essential. This means that life coaching and alternative therapies are not covered, nor is therapy without a diagnosis. Call the number on the back or your insurance card or visit your insurance company's website to review your Summary of Benefits. If you have insurance through your employer, your Human Resources department may also be able to answer questions.

How much does therapy cost with insurance?
The cost of therapy depends on your region, how much training and experience your therapist has, and the type of treatment. The rate for talk therapy generally falls between $100 and $250. For a client seeing an in-network provider, the cost of therapy is often similar to the cost of other health care services. Clients pay co-pays and may need to satisfy a plan’s deductible before benefits kick in.

What is the difference between In-Network and Out-of-Network insurance coverage?
An in-network provider has contracted with an insurer to get paid directly for services, and to accept the insurer’s rate of compensation. Clients are responsible for deductibles and copays. If a therapist is out of network, that means that the client pays the therapist directly for services at the therapist’s regular fee. Out-of-Network providers often give clients a receipt so that they can file for partial reimbursement with their insurance company.

Is it difficult to find an In-Network therapist?
It is not unusual for therapists to limit the number of insurance patients in their practice, so it’s important to check in-network availability when you schedule your first appointment. In regions and times where therapy is in high demand it may take longer to get scheduled with an in-network therapist.

What is the difference between HMO and PPO insurance plans?
HMO health plans only cover in-network services, there is no reimbursement for out-of-network providers. PPO plans often cover both in- and out-of-network services, though the client may pay more for out-of-network services.

What is a Superbill?
A superbill is a receipt for therapy services. It provides all the information required by insurance companies to reimburse you for out-of-network services, including the diagnostic codes for your care, the amount paid, and the dates and duration of care.

Does insurance cover Online therapy?
Many therapists who shifted their practice to online therapy during the pandemic have kept that arrangement. And most insurers continue to cover telehealth services, with a few exceptions. Preventive care (such as an annual depression screening) is often required to be in-person to be covered, and some states require prescribers of controlled substances to see those patients in person.

Does insurance cover Group therapy?
Many insurance plans provide coverage for group therapy provided there is a medical diagnosis for group members, but there are some noteworthy exceptions. For example, Medicare does not always cover group therapy. Group therapy tends to cost less than individual therapy.

Does insurance cover Couples therapy?
Most insurance companies do not cover the cost of couples therapy because there is no medical diagnosis or medically necessary treatment. However, a few plans will offer a limited benefit, so it is still worth checking with your insurance company. Sometimes therapy is covered for a couple when one person has a diagnosis and another family member joins them for joint therapy, but it is considered therapy for the medical condition that includes a family member as a listener or helper, not couples counseling. Without insurance, most clients pay between $100-300 per 60-90 min session for couples therapy. Often clients can find classes or workshops that make it more affordable to work on their relationship. And some employers offer benefit plans that help defray the cost of couples therapy. Learn more about Insurance Coverage and Finding Affordable Therapy
