Life’s messy, and healing isn’t linear so why should therapy be? My approach is modern, progressive, unorthodox, and rooted in compassion. If you’re looking for a space where you can show up exactly as you are, raw, real, and ready to grow, you’re in the right place. So here’s the truth: I was a dually adjudicated youth in Connecticut, raised in both foster and juvenile facilities. I became a teen mom, survived domestic violence, and through grit and determination, I founded Lagom.I don’t follow the old-school rulebook, we collaborate together to make our own to get you were you need to be on your terms your way.

The most important thing I need you to know about me and how I work is, that I believe counseling to be a calling and I truly believe in the power of Therapy to change lives. I believe that talking about the things that hurt us provides us with the power to overcome them. As a counselor I hear many sad and difficult stories and I pray for the wisdom and knowledge to know how to best be of service to my clients.

I am accepting new clients for both in-office and telehealth sessions.
It takes a lot of courage and strength to enter therapy. I provide a safe, supportive, and positive environment where the sources of stress and life difficulties would be identified. Ways to work through and overcome life challenges would then be presented and focused on with the goal of improving your life one step at a time. I use an integrative approach, in which I draw upon various models of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral, humanistic, and mindfulness-based therapies. I feel that this is an effective way to work collaboratively with you to create a personalized approach that fits your unique needs and goals.

Taking new Client's and offering telehealth. As a therapist I understand that people's lives can get off track, sometimes leaving them feeling stuck and unsure about which direction to take. Counseling is an opportunity to discover what is preventing you from moving forward. Whether it is events from the past, current challenges, or that your future looks bleak, we can take the journey together to discover what is blocking your ability to move forward. As a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist I understand that not everything that happens in our lives is totally our fault.

I've been practicing as a psychotherapist for over 30 years. I have been clinical director of mental health facilities and on the faculty of Tufts University School of Medicine. I welcome clients 14 years of age and older -- individuals and couples, and offer you a warm personal approach focusing on your specific needs. I don't believe in a "one size fits all" model of practice or that therapy should be "a way of life." Therapy begins with a careful assessment and plan. If what we are doing isn't working for you, we change it.

For an appointment text 203-214-7226. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor with 25 years of experience, I believe the best way to conduct therapy is through understanding the relationship you have with yourself first. This relationship then translates to positive connections with others including your parents, spouse, partner, and co-dependent relations including various addictions. By improving your relationships in all aspects of your life, you will see a decrease in your anxieties and depression. Accepting HUSKY, BCBS, Cigna multi-plan.

I am conducting sessions both via Telehealth and in person, whatever you prefer!
I enjoy helping people to see how amazing they are - we can lose sight of this fast when not feeling our best. I have a very down to earth approach and I'm all about identifying and using your own strengths to solve issues, foster and build empowerment, and move past shame and self criticism. Therapy is different for each person depending on your needs, preferences, and goals. The experience should be judgement free, safe, and understanding at all times. I practice through the lens of constant anti racism, anti imperialism, anti oppression, and Liberation focused training, which should not be optional in this field.

Life has a way of bringing us to moments we never quite prepared for. A pregnancy that feels more complicated than joyful, a postpartum period that looks nothing like what you expected, or a transition that leaves you wondering who you are on the other side of it. You don't have to figure it out alone.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
