Life is inherently unpredictable. How do we navigate unforseen obstacles when they arise? How do we make sense of and begin to process the unfathomable when we are blindsided by it? And how can we overcome our own stuck points so that we can live more purposeful, happier lives given complex issues that may present themselves? You may be experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, and/or other challenges along the way. I offer a safe and non-judgmental space to help you process, learn, and overcome.

Hello and welcome! I have enjoyed working in this field for 20 years... I bring a creative and energetic process to each client I meet. We set out together to improve the relationships that are bringing them down. Relationships are the focus— with partners, families and important people. Relationships to other things are examined as well. Each person that works with me can expect to explore areas of physical well-being as an integral part of their emotional and mental health.

Motherhood is hard! You're exhausted, sleep deprived, and constantly second guessing yourself. You love your children but feel completely overwhelmed and the expectations of motherhood doesn't match the reality. Sometimes you even wish you could go back to life before kids, when you felt free, successful, and full of optimism. Whether you're currently rocking a newborn back to sleep, hiding in your bathroom from your screaming toddlers, or still recovering from a difficult birth, you are not alone in your feelings.

Many men struggle with stress, anger, relationships, or societal pressures and often try to handle it alone.
I know reaching out for therapy takes strength. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you feel accepted and confident that therapy is helping you move forward. Together, we’ll build insights and tools so you can ultimately support your own growth and change. I base my services on the following principles—upholding unconditional regard for you, meeting you ‘where you are,’ collaborating with you, and guiding therapy at your pace.

Are you the one everyone relies on? But deep down, you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and drained. You carry the weight of unresolved experiences, constantly second-guessing yourself, and telling yourself you’re “fine,” even though you know something needs to change. You’re ready for relief from the constant overthinking, self-criticism, and exhaustion. You crave clarity, confidence, and control over your life. Above all, you want to feel lighter, more present, and empowered to move forward.

You might look like you're holding everything together, but inside you may feel overwhelmed, anxious, or worn down by stress or self-doubt. Maybe you're stretched thin by school, work, family, or relationships, moving through a transition, or noticing low moods that are hard to shake. You may also be worried about your teen's well-being. Many of the adults, parents, and teens I see in my Fairfield/Southport CT office feel the pressure of expectations and start to lose touch with what they truly want and need. You don't have to carry this alone.

I am a licensed psychologist that specializes in working with children, adolescents, and their families but also work with individuals across the lifespan. While it is normal to have emotional or behavioral ups and downs, no one can manage challenges or experiences that affect their own or their child's engagement in day to day activities and routines, that limit progress towards goals, that delay life transitions, or that damage close relationships. When these things happen, it can be difficult to find services and support that fit your known and unknown needs. However, I am here to help.

Are you your best ally or your worst critic? Often we don't see how our own limiting thoughts and fears are holding us back. We become stuck in self-doubt as we judge ourselves and others. Our ability to cope becomes hindered as we struggle and resist what is around us. Therapy can provide a supportive environment to explore, identify and initiate positive change to help you move forward.

Growing up is hard work! It is a helpless feeling when your child is struggling and you don't know how to help them; and when one person in the family is struggling, everyone in the family is struggling. For over a decade I have worked exclusively with children, teens, and their families. I was trained at one of the top pediatric hospitals in the country, in their department of psychiatry. I believe that in working with children you must also incorporate their family and I encourage family involvement in all of my treatments. I am also a trained SPACE provider for parents of children diagnosed with Anxiety Disorders.

Anger Management Therapists

How long does therapy take for anger management?

Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?

Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?

Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
