My passion is working with AFAB clients who identify as neurodivergent and exploring ways society misses women and LGBTQIA+ people when looking at neurodiversity.
I’m Cassidy, a Licensed Professional Counselor. I work with clients who are 18+. I see a variety of neurodiverse clients with Autism, ADHD, Social Anxiety and Depression. Whether you are a young adult trying to adjust to being on your own/college life, a parent of a child/teen with Autism or ADHD looking for validation or someone who is working to mask less, we can work together to achieve success. I think it is so important to celebrate our successes no matter how big or small. Everyone needs someone to cheer them on from the sidelines while they live through life’s ups and downs, and I hope to provide that support for you.

Therapy shouldn't make you feel like you are doing everything "wrong" - let's start with what you are doing well and figure out how to do more of that. At Grow in Grace you are steering the work - what is important to you is important to me. There is a reason you think now is the time for therapy - that reason becomes our shared goal. In every session you can expect that your thoughts, feelings, and experiences are heard and valued. You are the expert on your life - my job is to come along side you, hold space, offer new perspectives, provide tools, and cheerlead.

I've spent a lot of time deconstructing my own privilege as a cis white woman and will continue to!.
My practice focuses on assisting teens and emerging adults in navigating their complex world and the issues that are common for them including anxiety, depression, body image issues, and self-harm. I often hear "I feel like I don't know what I'm doing" and therapy can be a place where this feeling is both normalized (who does know what they're doing?!) and to gain more perspective on how to cope with challenges while finding their place in this world.

Additionally, our neuropsychologically based autism evaluations carefully assess women & girls who often get misdiagnosed since they’re better able to cover up and compensate for their issues.
I believe unlocking our potential for success is important because it provides necessary skills & confidence to navigate life’s challenges, pursue passions, and achieve goals & dreams, ultimately contributing to a happy & fulfilling life. An assessment can elucidate strengths & areas where one might not be as strong, providing a path toward a bright future.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
