When in therapy, it is important to know that your results come from you and the work you are willing to put into your treatment. I love guiding people to solutions that allow them to be the best they can be.

Taking the first step into the therapeutic world is difficult. Sometimes we allow our pride to get in the way of our growth, somehow we feel that engaging in therapy equates to “not having it all together.” Other times it may feel like a sign of weakness or therapy simply is the UNKNOWN. However, if you fall into the majority you are prioritizing everything else in your life to avoid it. Whether you fall into all these categories or none I am here to encourage you to show up for yourself ! Create time in your busy schedule to EXHALE. No matter where you are in this book called life the chapter titled “YOU" is the most important.

When we saw mental health being unaffordable and incomplete, we took on this endeavor of launching our unique model of mental health wellness throughout many cities and states. Before we started, we saw a great demand for receiving affordable, comprehensive, and enjoyable mental healthcare. So, we started our company to provide counseling that is affordable on the base prices, but also extremely affordable through our unmatched sliding scale models. We also didn't sacrifice the quality of care delivered, but even increased it. We now offer in-person and virtual visits in CT, FL, NJ, NV, and PA.

Are you stressed out? Are you having relationship problems or family conflict? Are you depressed and sad? Come in and talk about some of the things that are impacting your life. Start working on solutions to be the best you can be in a non-judgmental, respectful and safe place. Throughout my career I've worked with diverse populations specializing in relationship issues, stress, anger management, trauma, depression, addictions, anxiety; and more. Sometimes talking to a neutral person helps to start the healing process.

This may be through art making, working with miniature figurines in sand, therapeutic play or trauma informed talk therapy.
My practice focuses on children, adolescents, women and families. Some deal with anxiety or social difficulties; some deal with trauma and depression. Some are grieving. Some are navigating life changes; others are navigating difficult environments, such as home or school. Some are finding out who they are and embracing their passions, while navigating their environments where they may not be fully accepted yet. This may be due to learning or neurological differences, circumstances of adoption, divorce and or/blended families, or gender or sexual identities. Sometimes work is done individually, sometimes in family groupings.

Art Therapy
How does art therapy work?
The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.

Does art therapy help with trauma?
Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.

How long does art therapy last?
The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.

What are the limitations of art therapy?
Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
