I was trained in psychodynamic theory and tend to be person-focused and relational in my approach.
I feel passionately about working with highly sensitive people, you know, the deep feelers in the world, those who hold cycle-breaking experiences, and/or those who identify as neurodivergent. If you have spent much of your life feeling lonely or different, if you have had to break cycles on your own, I strive to create a safe place for you to feel supported and less alone in your experiences. I also enjoy working with people who are exploring their boundary needs in their various relationships in life.

Have you lost the joy you once felt? Do you notice a harsh inner critic, anxiety, or trust issues that interfere with your relationships? Do you feel a lack of sexual desire or find yourself replaying painful experiences you can’t seem to let go of? Have you felt betrayed or disconnected from yourself or others? You don’t have to stay trapped in that cycle. I integrate CBT, DBT, Emotionally Focused Therapy, conflict resolution, and mindfulness practices, which bring clarity, calm, and healing. In other words, whatever you are going through I can help.  I know what it’s like to feel vulnerable.

Feeling overwhelmed? Looking for a therapist isn't easy. You may be reading profile after profile thinking all of these people sound the same or may have no idea what any of this means. You’re not alone! Most people don’t care about the interventions or methods of therapy used. They just want to feel better! I believe the answer to feeling better lies in the connection. A good therapist is someone you can trust, open up to, and share yourself with, so that you can learn to overcome the challenges you are struggling with and can grow!

Do you feel like you're trying to help your child but your child doesn't recognize this? Perhaps you are aware that something is bothering your child but you and your child can't put your finger on it. You may have heard from the school that your child is having difficulty in school and your having trouble identifying what is causing this.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
