Whether you're working through long-standing issues or facing a new challenge, therapy can be a powerful tool for healing and personal growth. My goal is to help you clarify what matters most, move beyond past trauma, and cultivate a deeper sense of well-being—now and in the future. Maybe your old ways of coping with stress, disappointment, self-doubt, or conflict no longer serve you, and it feels like something has to change. Your goals are my goals, and together we can create a path forward toward the most authentic, empowered version of you.

Sometimes life becomes overwhelming due to trauma, increased anxiety and depressive symptoms leading us to believe there is something inherently wrong with us. We sometimes forget that we have the power to change our situation and circumstances. My goal is not to just treat the symptoms, but rather uncover the underlying root cause that triggered these symptoms and empower you to move forward in a positive direction. Treating the symptoms alone may cause the issue to present itself again.

In-person and telehealth appointments available most weekdays.
Therapy works best when you feel deeply understood. At its core, it is a relationship grounded in empathy, thoughtful directness, and the belief that meaningful change is possible. With over 25 years of experience as a psychologist, I help adults, adolescents, and families identify the patterns that keep them stuck, understand the impact of formative relationships, and develop a more integrated sense of self. My style is warm, collaborative, and engaged. I create a space where painful experiences - particularly trauma, attachment injuries, grief, and loss - can be explored safely and where insight can translate into lasting change.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
