I believe that kindness, respect and a little humor help us to achieve goals in life, and this goes double for therapy. Research indicates that the therapeutic relationship is the most important component of therapy, that across all types of therapy, the greatest predictor of successful therapy is an excellent therapeutic relationship. So, finding the right fit is crucial. When asked, I advise friends and family to contact a few therapists, and find the best chemistry, or fit. I advise you reading this to do the same thing.

I help clients feel less anxious and more authentic in their relationships. I believe that many people experience struggle in their lives as a result of growing distant from their emotional compasses. I work with individual clients and couples to reconnect with these aspects of their experiences. Please note that I am only available for telehealth sessions

Your story is your own. My job as a therapist is to create a space of understanding and acceptance where your story can be told, and personal examination and growth can feel safe and attainable. I believe that as an individual's understanding of their own thoughts and emotions increases so, too, does their ability to resolve conflict, heal from trauma, repair relationships, communicate effectively, and break self-destructive patterns. My collaborative role in this process is to provide active listening, empathetic reflection and observation, and attuned interventions specific to your unique needs and strengths.

I am Certified in EMDR. EMDR is a trauma therapy which research has shown to be highly effective. The most important characteristics of a good therapist are intelligent listening, the ability to use multiple skills according to the needs of the client, and most importantly, compassion. I have worked with depression and anxiety (among other issues) for 31 years. It is very difficult to seek help at a time when one is most vulnerable and I am especially sensitive to this with my clients.

As a trauma-centered and expressive arts therapist, I combine talk therapy with the use of play, art, and the body as tools for healing and liberation. I am curious about how wounds of the past and harmful expectations have impacted your sense of wholeness. You might be someone who learned exactly who you "ought" to be from a very young age. Boxes are easier to fit into when you're small. They feel safer, too, especially if your family or culture has been boxing parts of themselves away for generations. But any condition that limits your ability to fully step into the wholeness of who you are is ultimately damaging.
