I look forward to meeting new clients - people who are ready to make life changes. My approach is to help others become aware of what triggers their negative feelings of rejection, abandonment, anger and hurt. Together we explore ways to eliminate unwanted behaviors and to learn positive ways to relate to others. I will help you on a road of self-discovery as you learn to identify and to understand your feelings and their origins. I like to do all of this with a sense of humor and positive reinforcement. I enjoy being with people on their journey. EXPERIENCE WITH FIRST RESPONDERS(POLICE, FIRE, CORRECTIONS, EMT).

Youth and young adults today continue to face challenges that affect their daily lives, from anxiety and depression to low self-esteem and poor decision-making. Building trust with caring adults can be difficult and uncomfortable, so my therapy style focuses on creating a safe and open space where you can talk about anything hindering your success. Together, we will explore evidence-based tools, techniques, and methods many other therapists use to improve mental health and well-being.

Life will always life — unpredictable, messy, and full of moments that can leave us feeling overwhelmed or disconnected. Sometimes, we find ourselves unable to process or cope with what we’ve experienced. In these moments, it’s important to remember that being our best selves often requires slowing down, looking inward, and addressing what’s holding us back. True growth comes from self-reflection and healing. As Carl Jung once said, “Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” Therapy offers a safe space for that awakening — a place to understand, process, and transform your pain into strength.

My ideal clients are children ages 3–12 and their families who are navigating emotional, behavioral, social, school-related, or developmental challenges. Families often seek support for anxiety, emotional regulation, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), behavioral concerns, family transitions, or difficulties at school. Using a strength-based, trauma-informed, and play-focused approach, I help children build skills, confidence, and emotional awareness while coaching parents with practical strategies that support lasting growth and positive change at home, school, and in the community.

My ideal client is an adult who has been carrying a lot for a long time. They may be navigating trauma, chronic stress, depression, anxiety, or the emotional weight of systemic and cultural pressures. Many have histories of instability, unmet needs, or survival-based coping that once protected them but now feels exhausting. They are often strong, capable, and resilient, yet deeply tired of “just getting by.” They may be high-functioning on the outside while feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or emotionally stuck on the inside.

We all have a story but who wants to truly listen? We all have scars, but who is willing to heal them from within? I am all ears and willing to help you heal. But, first, are you ready to commit to your own healing. If you are, let's start the process. I am an individual that is passionate about healing from within and learning best practices. I take pride and joy to learn so I can help others over come obstacles. We all want a quiet mind so we can be in our lives. To me, that is priceless, so when you are ready to begin, I'll be waiting to hear your story.

Over 20 years of clinical experience working with adolescents, teenagers, and young adults struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and addiction in various treatment settings. Diversity and multicultural issues are embedded in everything we do and contribute to presenting problems. I am conscious of varying decision-making preferences, the role of family dynamics, stages of life, socioeconomic status, and issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity. As well as the stigma associated with seeking mental health services.

Intervention Therapists
How does an intervention work?
An intervention is a planned, structured meeting in which a person’s family or friends voice concerns about the person’s behavior and its consequences; the goal is for the person to accept treatment. In this meeting, the person’s loved ones (often with the guidance of a trained interventionist) share how the person’s behavior has harmed them and the consequences if the person refuses treatment. They collectively ask the person to accept a proposed treatment plan.

How effective are interventions?
There isn’t extensive research on the efficacy of interventions, in part because success is difficult to measure. Individuals often enter addiction treatment after an intervention, for example, but treatment itself may not work, especially if the person only begins due to external pressure from others rather than due to internal motivation to change. However, if all other attempts at helping someone have failed, an intervention may be worth exploring.

What are the limitations of interventions?
While a friend or family member’s intentions are in the right place in wanting to help a loved one through an intervention, there are significant limitations to the approach. The surprising nature of the event can make the person feel ambushed or judged. They may feel embarrassed or ashamed as a result, and relationships may be strained or broken. This can make it difficult for the individual to be receptive to the concerns of their loved ones and the interventionist.

Are there alternatives to interventions?
Rather than confronting a loved one through an intervention, an effective and less pressured approach is to create space for a caring, open, one-on-one conversation. This works best if the loved one asks open-ended questions, listens attentively to the answers, and frames their observations and statements with concern rather than judgment. More than one conversation may be needed, but change can take root over time.
