I understand the complexities of living day-to-day
life
with the barriers/hurdles that accompany a neurological disorder, which can be compounded by additional stressors & trauma.
Do you suffer low self-esteem because you have difficulty maintaining daily responsibilities at school, work, or home? Do you struggle with sitting for long periods or staying on task? Do you sometimes feel as though you are "controlled" by strong waves of emotion or anger? Maybe you're discovering trouble in your relationships with others due to forgetfulness, time management, impulsiveness, substance abuse, or general communication issues.

I offer therapeutic performance
coaching
for those looking to fine tune their professional impact with expansive integrity.
I'd love to work in partnership with someone who wants to do good in the world. Being open to appropriate humor and a straightforward therapeutic delivery is essential, as I keep it very real. I'll mirror back to you your highest potential, identify blind spots, and help you turn your light back on. Then, you can pay it forward. I believe in the interconnectedness of the emotional, psychological, and spiritual aspect of the self. I also believe every obstacle or crisis is an opportunity to remember who you are. It's an opportunity to wake up and think differently. About yourself, the world, and your very important place in it.

Life
can often feel overwhelming–you’re carrying a lot on your shoulders–and as a result you feel stuck in a rut or routine. Please know that this narrative can change; it’s possible to find peace, and I’m here to help. Our therapeutic relationship is the most important aspect of therapy, and so my objective is always to provide a space where folks feel safe and heard and like they can be their authentic selves within a session. I use a warm, validating approach balanced with a directness that is clear and affirming. I’m person-centered and believe that my clients should be co-creators in their own paths to healing.

I work with couples, individuals and families who are struggling with issues related to adjusting to a new phase in the
life
cycle, relationship difficulties or the pain of infidelity, and/or mood disorders.
*Currently not taking new clients* Choosing a therapist can seem overwhelming. Deciding who to share your story with requires an investment of your time, energy and finances. My twenty years of experience in the therapy field has helped me to connect with people in a safe and supportive environment to tackle the obstacles
life
sometimes throws our way. We all can get off track or lose sight of our hopes and goals for the future. Finding the right support during these times is crucial to navigating our way back to the people we love and the
life
we want for ourselves.

Our ability to live a more satisfying
life
is predicated on our capacity for self-awareness and subsequently self-management. By examining our patterned behavior and underlying thinking we have an opportunity to understand the dynamics of our distress. This understanding, derived from insight-oriented therapy, coupled with cognitive behavioral based techniques, can help us transition to living a better
life
. I help facilitate the process of introspection and awareness with the goal to build and foster skills to better manage emotional and psychological reactions.

"Relax as it is."-Pema Chodron. It's a beautifully simple phrase yet it requires two powerful features: letting go and acceptance. Our
life
shapes the stories we tell ourselves and so often these stories foster feelings of anxiety, sadness, frustration, anger and blame (of ourselves and of those close to us). The changes that
life
always bestow on us are often unwelcome triggers causing us to notice how these ways of thinking can negatively impact our overall well-being. By taking the opportunity to look at ourselves in an honest and gentle way we create new pathways to accept and let go.

Life Coaching Therapists
What can I expect from life coaching?
Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.
Can a life coach help treat anxiety?
Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.
Can life coaching be done online?
Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.
How long does life coaching last?
Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
