As a society, we are so scared to talk about
death
and dying, yet it is one of the very things that connects us all and makes us human.
Ready to punch the next person who says “Everything happens for a reason” or “Time heals all wounds”? You know that none of us make it to adulthood without experiencing
loss
. Everyone is grieving something. But it doesn't stop the crushing weight in your chest first thing in the morning. It also feels like snapping at your kids when you don’t mean to, being extra clumsy, exhausted, numb, or nursing a pervasive brain fog. The
grief
comes in waves; battering you, crashing into you, knocking you breathless to your knees. You may not see how yet but you will get through this, and I’m here as your guide and support along the way.

I work with clients who have trauma,
grief
, depression, anxiety, relationship issues and more.
My ideal client is an individual who is willing to work. I have a passion for helping clients learn more about who they are and how to fully accept both the good and the bad with in them. This understanding of who we are, will always lead to a healthier state of mind. For me there is no greater reward then seeing a client reach that AH-HA moment that true inner growth and self-awareness connects.

Life is full of change and the unexpected. Have you been blindsided by one of the many curveballs life can throw at you? Do you feel overwhelmed, lost, or directionless? Realigning after a huge change- be it the
loss
of a loved one, separation/divorce, job change, health shift, or even college graduation- can be a challenging process. I love to help people adjust, grow, and transform though these shifts, seeing the forest through the trees to come to a fuller, more centered perspective on all that life still has to offer. Finding our way back to peace can be demanding and we could all use some support in this process.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
